This is the hardest category on the site and it is not close. Kerfuffle, snollygoster and codswallop combine rare letters, doubled consonants and lengths nobody expects, and the average score here is roughly double the animals list.
The reason they play so badly is that a guesser cannot use meaning at all. With animals, a partial pattern narrows the field; with balderdash, knowing it is a silly word tells you nothing about which letters are in it.
Use these when you want the round to be about laughing rather than winning. If you actually want a fair contest, filter this list to easy and medium and leave the rest alone.

What this list does to a guesser

The eight letters most people open with — E, T, A, O, I, N, S, R — uncover about 43% of a typical silly words word, and the single most productive opening letter here is O, which appears 65 times. The least useful of the eight is T at 25 appearances, so spending an early guess on it in this category is usually wasted.
3 words in this list contain none of those eight letters at all — fluffy, fuddy duddy, fuzzy. Those are the rounds that end early, because a standard opening draws the whole figure before a single letter lands.
